We got back from California just over a week ago and have been busy getting reestablished and things going here again. I spent a lot of time meeting with potential clients in California, as we are now working in earnest to get our products exported. We are aiming to have our products in the US by sometime early next year, hopefully pre-valentine’s day. It may be a long shot, but things are moving along fairly well right now, despite the typical setbacks and unexpected hoops that keep coming up. We will initially be introducing three box sizes, a 6 pc., a 12 pc, and 21 pc. box, and then hope to move on to doing chocolate covered almonds, orange peels, macadamias, and coffee beans.
It seems so simple when you see a product on the shelf in the store, but really it takes months of work, a lot of money, and a lot of time to put together even the simplest product. That’s where most of my time has been spent the last few weeks. Designing the product line, writing the copy that goes on the package, figuring out the dimensions of the packaging, getting the nutrition labels and ingredient list together and all the other minutiae, then actually sending it on to the designer to put together on a box, well, it has taken days, days which stretched into weeks, weeks which stretched into months.
Our products will be available via a new website we have yet to launch, called www.aequarechocolates.com. The new brand will be called Aequare (ay-kwar-ay). We may also be co-branding with another label; if and when we do, we will be sure to let you know where you might be able to find our products.
